State of Magilla's Hobby (Time and Money)

This is not a rant or a tirade; it is a discussion on the state of my hobby and the choices that I am making due to a multitude of factors. The factors range from a new job, family, money, time, and simple good old fun. Like the picture indicates, I have come to one of those forks in life's road and I have had to make a few decisions concerning how I will spend my hobby time and money.

Time, Gaming, and Blogging

It seems that Blogger has eaten today's post.
Normally, this would not be a big deal as I would simply hop on the computer and fix the problem.
However, that is no longer an option as my recent graduation with my Master's degree has also netted me a new job that is much more demanding my time. Luckily, we have mobile blogger and smart phones.

Malifaux Page Added

Now that Table Top War is actually starting to play Malifaux on a semi-regular basis, I decided to make a a separate page on the blog to house all of the links for our Malifaux "stuff." Currently, the page is mainly filled up with a discussion of the current direction we are taking with our crews, but at the bottom you can find a list of links by date and author for the few Malifaux Articles we have had to date.

Kingdom-Con Day Two Results

Day two is over and this is the final records for the Thou Shalt Game Crew.
Magilla 3-2-1
Snake-Eyes 2-3-1
Dawson 2-3-1

I exceeded my goal of breaking even.
However, when and were I lost was telling....and is something I will cover in a later post.

I will also be proving a quick after action report of my games as well as a review of the event as a whole....

...right now I want a shower and my own bed.

Kingdom-Con Day One Results

Well, Day one was fun and as always Reece and crew threw a great tournament.
Given the short notice, still a solid turnout of around 50.

I was a little apprehensive going into the tournament given the fact I have not played in 4 weeks and only played two games against Necrons and neither of those against Barge-Wraith or Scarab-Farms....our Necron players seem to like Veil lists.

As expected there were a whole lot of Necron lists and a lot of them are Scarab-Farms.
None of us has played one as they shot up to the top tables....
.....that will probably change today....

Okay, here are the results for the Thou Shalt Game crew.
Magilla:
Game 1: Purifier Spam - Win
Game 2: Horde Orks - Tie
Game 3: Bike Marines - Win (Table 6)

Snake -Eyes:
Game 1: Horde Orks - loss
Game 2: DraigoWing - Tie
Game 3: Blood Angels - Win

Dawson:
Game 1: Sisters of Battle - loss
Game 2: Blood Angels - win
Game 3: Blood Angels - win

Going into Day Two, my goal is still to break even....
....So I need one more win or tie....
Alright off to find coffee for Snake who was up all night playing Malifaux

Semi-Live Kingdom-Con Updates

We are off to Kingdom-Con!
We will be providing updates throughout the weekend; these will primarily be on Facebook as mobile pictures loaded on blogger look like crappola.

Magilla Gurilla is going to Kingdom-Con!

Well, as a little reward to myself, I am heading off to Kingdom-Con with Snake-Eyes tomorrow. My thesis was accepted, I am done and graduating! As an extra bonus, I have gotten a new job, which I start this month! Okay, back to War-gaming...

Disqus Removed

I have removed Disqus from the blog.
After making the blog mobile device friendly, I found that Disqus did not show up on the mobile version of the blog and comments posted via the mobile version were on Bloggers response section. As these comments were only visible via mobile, I removed Disqus so all comments would use the same program.


Due to the fact the blog got a reboot due to data loss anyways, I figured doing it now only lost us a few comments.

Off to Escalation League

Table Top War is off to Escalation League.
All three of us have entered the local escalation league at Thou Shalt Game. Dawson from Imperial Voxcast Podcast is also attending, so it looks like a fun filled next 8 months.
I am painting up and bringing Tyranids.
Monster Rain is bringing Necrons and adding to his existing horde.
Snake-Eyes is painting up and bringing a DOA element for his Angels of Death.

New Blog Banner and Art

Wanted to give a shout out to  Menzies Tank  and the new artwork he has done for the Blog. 
He made a new banner, a new avatar for me and a new Symbol for Table Top War.
The pictures now incorporate Monster Rain.

From 501 Posts to 14....oh well

I don't know exactly what happened.

But while editing a post, all my old post disappeared.

It almost happened last week, but I logged off and came back and it was back to normal.

It happened again Wednesday, but I logged off and came back and it was back to normal.

This time, it was for real and all old posts are gone!!!!!!

I managed to save the ones from the first of the year, because I backed them all up on my hard drive.

Oh well, guess it is a great way to start a New Year and a New Army! Onward and upward we go....

....again!
